A minor in Chicano/Latino Studies is a valuable asset for individuals preparing to work in fields and professions that place a premium on effectively reaching out to Latino/a individuals and communities, especially, but not limited to, health, education, business (marketing, human resources), counseling, legal, and public service professions.

At Portland State University, a minor is less than a certificate. Spanish is not required.

A balanced interdisciplinary program of social science and humanities requirements makes the Chicano/Latino Studies minor one of the most useful supplements to a PSU major. The minor requires 28 credits.
